SparkMeter is now an affiliate of EarthSpark International.

In 2025, SparkMeter Inc. sold its US operations to Honeywell. EarthSpark International, the non-profit organization that launched SparkMeter nearly 12 years prior, took over SparkMeter's emerging market operations to ensure continuity of service for the nearly 1 million people accessing electricity through a SparkMeter meter.

EarthSpark is working to 

• Ensure that the “lights stay on” for the 1 million people that are accessing electricity through a SparkMeter meter and
• Ensure open collaboration and co-creation of a sustainable smart metering solution and business model with sector stakeholders.
  
  

EarthSpark has hired key SparkMeter staff, and the combined team is working closely with customers, funders, and other stakeholders to shape the future of the SparkMeter smart metering platform and to ensure that the critical infrastructure of smart metering continues to enable the delivery of high-quality energy services around the world.
